Position Summary: The Sales Manager will provide support to the Preconstruction (Sales & Marketing and Estimating) Team by providing a variety of support duties such as handling bid invitations, customer calls/requests, data entry, preconstruction reports, and preparation of marketing materials for the company. This role will also be responsible for reviewing, negotiating, and preparing to execute all customer contracts for new project bookings. It is anticipated that this role will train for progression to perform the full sales process and functions needed to help the sales and estimating teams earn business, including taking the lead on some projects and / or accounts from start to close out.  
 

💼 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Responsible for processing a large number of project bid invitations from start to close out
  • Responsible for department incoming and outgoing phone calls and other requests
  • Generate sales and estimating reports and other administrative tasks as needed
  • Serve as the Contracts Manager for all project contracts (MSAs, Work Orders, etc.). and create and execute subcontracts
  • Ensure any adverse project terms are clearly identified and reviewed with the President (and impacted CLT member) prior to execution of any contract. Will liaise between Sales, Operations, and Finance (reaching out to outside legal counsel, when necessary) to resolve contract issues.
  • Detailed knowledge of the company’s contracts is critical for ensuring changes in the business do not adversely impact our commitments to our customers.
  • Negotiate contract language, as directed and approved by senior management
  • Prepare customer contracts for execution by senior management
  • Provide appropriate contract handover to Project Manager, ensuring unique terms and conditions are flagged for their awareness
  • Use current ERP system (and other systems) to track customer information, project leads, and project results.
  • Manage, or direct an outside consultant to manage, the company's social media to include: the company website, Facebook, LinkedIn, and internal marketing/ media.
  • Manage Prequalification process
  • Responsible for taking or arranging jobsite photos for select completed projects
  • Prepare marketing literature (brochures, press releases etc.) and assist with award submissions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Proactively learn about new bid opportunities, follow up on pending projects, share information with the sales & estimating team and help earn business.
  • Accept and seek out internal and external training for progression and learning
  • Become an expert in the full sales process, ask probing questions, and understand customer needs and how we can help with their needs to earn business.
  • Develop and maintain positive, professional, and productive customer relationships via phone and/or by occasionally visiting customer offices and attending customer events (approximately 10% of time).
  • Fill in for the Director of Sales at customer events when needed.
  • Maintain a professional appearance
    • Maintain work area, organized and orderly, ensuring compliance with safety regulations
  • Possess a good driving record, maintain Colorado vehicle insurance and have the ability to assist the Sales Director and other departments with occasional out-of-office needs in Colorado Springs, Denver, and the surrounding areas when needed

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Previous work experience in a sales, contract management and/or similar role is required
  • Previous experience working in a construction or manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Ability to self-manage and exercise independent judgement and discretion
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office
  • Successful experience multi-tasking, prioritizing work and effectively managing a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to follow detailed and precise instructions without deviation
  • A high level of attention to detail and organization skills
  • In depth knowledge of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process in the construction industry
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural construction plans at a high level
  • Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Able to learn new skills and concepts quickly

Job Details

  • 💰 Salary: $65,000-$80,000 annual salary, commensurate upon experience.
  • Job Type: Full Time. Shift, Mon- Fri, 8:00am - 5:00pm .(with additional hours as needed).

  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment in a cubicle and/or office or will attend offsite company events. Noise level is minimal to moderate (appropriate PPE is provided to all employees). When covid restrictions or other unforeseeable situations arise, this may need to be a remote position during that time.
