Position Summary: The Director of Estimating leads the daily operations of the Estimating Department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: partnering with executive leadership, partnering with sales to meet/exceed company revenue goals, customers and Operations Team on the screening and decision making on project selections; handling projects ranging in size from $2k to $3M+ from bid to close out; meeting with customers at job sites; conducting scope reviews; and providing mentoring/coaching to the Estimating team.

💼 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Motivate and lead a high-performing estimating team. Hire, train, develop, and evaluate the performance of staff. Provide constructive feedback and accountability as needed.
  • Drive process improvement and standardize the estimating approach for all estimators.
  • Provides support to the President and VP, Sales and Marketing with screening and decision making on project selection(s).
  • Partners with the Sales team to pursue and earn project bids.
  • Review estimator takeoffs, pricing and proposals and work with preconstruction and operations team on approach.
  • Communicate with customers to clearly understand project requirements and goals.
  • Captures the customer needs without any plans; may need to sketch and price projects with minimal information and/or work with team to price these opportunities.
  • Responsible for take-offs, pricing, preparing detailed proposals, meeting bid deadlines and answering all customer post bid questions in a timely and clear manner.
  • Constructs detailed and accurate proposals to meet our internal and external customers’ varying needs.
  • Prepares and presents at customer scope reviews, for both personal projects as well as with supporting other estimators in their reviews.
  • Assists with existing project change orders as needed by project managers.
  • Facilitates project hand-offs as well as pre-bid pricing and operational approach to complex bid opportunities.

🌟 What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Business or Mathematics related, strongly preferred.
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in estimating (preferably millwork, casework, metal, glass, stone and/or non-traditional materials); fifteen (15) + years in construction and building industry, highly desired.
  • Previous leadership, training and/or mentoring experience.
  • Strong understanding of Architectural Woodwork Institute standards (AWS), LEED's and FSC Certification requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and BlueBeam
  • Expert ability to read architectural blueprints and shop drawings identifying all millwork items.
  • Strong understanding of millwork construction methods; demonstrate continuous education to keep up with changing needs. Have a strong understanding of standard building construction methods
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in a deadline orientated environment
  • Possess an acceptable driving record in accordance with Concepts’ driving policy.

Job Details

  • 💰 Salary:$100,000. to $120,000. salary, commensurate upon experience.
  • Job Type: Full Time. Shift, Mon- Fri, 7:00am - 4:00pm .(with additional hours as needed).
