Overview:
The Director of Operations will be responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations to include leading four areas of Operations:  Project Management, Production, Engineering, and Installation. The Director of Operations will work closely with the President as a strategic partner to ensure the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of the business through effective methods and strategies.

Salary

Competitive annual salary starting at $125,000 - $175,000.
This is a bonus eligible position. 

Job Type

Full-time. This role is scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, as a salaried employee, flexibility is expected, and additional hours may be required to meet business needs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Improve business processes for each department through analysis and collaboration.
  • Willing and able to think and act strategically for the benefit of the overall business beyond Operations.
  • Plan effective strategies for the financial well being of the company.
  • Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity.
  • Motivate and lead a high performance team; hire, train, develop and evaluate the performance of staff and provides constructive feedback as needed.
  • Remain knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors and all aspects of the millwork industry.
  • Ensure all deadlines are met (to include departmental deadlines) with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline oriented environment.
  • Maintain work area, organized and orderly, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Possess a good driving record and have the ability to visit customers and job sites in Colorado Springs, Denver, and the surrounding areas when needed.
  • Attend and oversee monthly departmental shop meetings
  • Will attend handoff meetings between estimating and PM’s
  • Attend lunch and learns with our Sales team
  • Attend and participate in customer engagement opportunities (Open houses, customer appreciation events, AGC functions)

Qualifications Desired:
  • Deep knowledge of Operations, with a minimum of 15 years experience in Manufacturing, Plant Management, Construction or related field
  • Proven track record of successful people management in an operations setting and the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
  • Previous experience improving operations efficiencies and productivity; knowledge of budgeting and finance as it relates to day-to-day operations decisions
  • Some experience with building, installing, and use of Engineering and/or architectural drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment in an office, will be exposed to moving machinery in a temperature-controlled environment and includes exposure to contaminants (mainly dust),  and will visit job sites.  The noise level in the work environment can be minimal to high (appropriate PPE is provided to all employees).
